Target Group: These tools are primarily designed for German-native speaking student pilots who are required to learn new aviation-specific vocabulary items, as well as private pilots who are not using English on a daily basis, but also experienced airline pilots and helicopter pilots who are required to renew the language proficiency rating in their license. Controllers, aircraft technicians, and other employees in the operational departments of airlines as well as anyone interested in flying will benefit from these training tools. Our solution is your benefit: The Pilot Vocabulary Trainer for iOS and Android devices is a vocabulary trainer for German native speakers. It consists of a basic module and two upgrades. PILOT 1 OPERATIONAL contains basic vocabulary items and is geared towards the minimum language level for pilots as defined by ICAO, while the first upgrade, called PILOT 2 EXTENDED, consists of a wide range of additional technical terms and is designed to help pilots reach the next higher ICAO level, which is Level 5. The second upgrade, PILOT III EXPERT, contains a large number of technical verbs and adjectives which enable linguistic expression at the highest, i.e., the expert level. With the vocabulary trainer on their mobile phones, users can improve their language skills anywhere in the world. Words can be practiced individually by using multiple choice, meaning users can decide for themselves which categories and how many words they want to practice. After each round the user will receive a detailed evaluation and can practice any incorrectly chosen terms again.
